“It was my first time to hear the name Cirilo Bautista and to read his work. I found the narrative interesting and full of emotions. It was fun and challenging to translate his work into visual context.
Ito yung kailangan pang magpaxerox ng ilang pahina mula sa libro upang makapagbasa nito tulad ng ibang estudyante sa ilang paaralan/ unibersidad na walang kapabilidad ng magkaroon o makabili ng isang buong libro. (This is the experience of students from some schools who need to photocopy pages from a book if they cannot afford to buy one.)”
“The challenge I encountered was to translate Bautista’s work into a visual narrative. It was fun doing experimental work. The project encouraged me to create more, to tell more stories and maybe to translate other works of literature into visual narrative thru collages, painting etc.
My tools were the photocopies of the book, crayons, glue, tapes, colored markers, watercolor, and ethyl alcohol.”
